Kenyans' Triumph!
Robai Khamasi Musilivi, was declared Miss University 2004 at a glittering event held in Seoul, Korea.  Robai beat a field of beauty queens from Asia, America and Europe to clinch the title that brings her fame, honour and prestige. Another Kenyan, Lonina Leteipan, was declared the runners-up for the Mr University International, which was clinched by China’s Yi Cheng Hu.

Africa's History at the Mr. & Miss University International Beauty Pageant

Kenyan and Tanzanian students have always shone at the international Mr. Miss University Beauty Pageants. Below are some of the most recent awards that Kenyan participants have won at the international Mr. & Miss University Beauty Pageants.

 

 

1995:Mr. Daniel Juma Omondi Mr. Friendship International

1996: Mr. Kevin Ombajo: Special Talent Award

1997: Ms.Carol Maina: Miss University International

1997: Mr. Chris Junge: Runners UP Mr. University International

1999: Ms. Wahu Kagwi: Runners UP Miss University International

2000:Mr. Antony Ngatiari: Runners UP Mr. University International

 

Mr. Misozi Nyirenda from Dar Es Salaam University in Tanzania becomes the second Tanzanian to win the top award (i.e Mr. University International) in the 2000 International Mr. & Miss University Beauty held in New York City. Miss University International went to Philippines.  In 1994, Ms. Mona Mwakalinga from the same University was declared Miss University International.

 

In 1995, Juliet Kokutensa Rugeyamu from Dar Es Salaam Universty was declared runners up Miss University international in an event held in Tokyo Japan.  In 1997 Carol Maina from Catholic University of Eastern Africa became the first Kenyan Student to win the Miss University International award.

 

In 1999 Miss Wahu Kagwi from the University of Nairobi in Kenya was declared the Runners UP Miss University International while Antony Ngatiari from the USIU-A brought the Runners UP Mr. University International award in 2000.

 

In 2001/2002, Mr. Mugambi Nthiga of USIU-A and Miss Anne K. Tangai of Utalii College were declared the 2001/2002 Mr & Miss University Kenya respectively in a national event held on November 11, 2001 at the Grand Regency Hotel.  The 2001 Mr.& Miss University International Beauty Pageant was held in Seoul Korea in February 2001.

 

The 2002/2003 Mr. & Miss University Kenya finals were held at the Carnivore Restaurant with Mr. Sen Suur of USIUA and Ms. Marale Margaret Sande of CUEA winning the 2002/2003 Mr. & Miss University Kenya titles respectively.  The Runners Up Mr. & Miss University Kenya were Mr. Benson Muasa from JKUAT and Ms. Patricia Kalukosama respectively. Miss Marale Margaret Sande of CUEA and Mr. Benson Muasa from JKUAT proceeded to represent Kenya in the 2002/2003 Mr. & Miss University International Beauty Pageant held in Asan in the Republic of Korea on 11th July 2003.

 

On 29th of May 2004, during the Mr. & Miss University Kenya Beauty Pageant held at the Village Market Nairobi, Kenyan Universities finally settled on this year's choice to represent Kenya at the 26th MMU International Pageant in Seoul. After a very competitive pageant, the following were declared Miss &r University Kenya 2004 respectively;

 

1) Miss University 2004: Miss Robai Musilivi Khamasi
Date of Birth: 26th March 1983 Major: 3rd year /4th year Bachelor of Education in English Literature
University: Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA)

2) Mr. University 2004: Mr. Allan Simon Lonina Leteipan
Date of Birth: 8th of Nov 1982 Major: 2nd Year Psychology Student
University: United States International University of Africa- (USIU-A)
